black and whites

where I live, we don’t have “good italian bakeries!”, something my grandmother complains about all the time. so instead, she makes black and whites and various other things that come from new york (where my family is from.)sooc. I’ve noticed that I take a lot of food pictures…Which side of a black and white cookie do you eat first?
Angel Food Cake

I had several egg whites leftover from the tiramisu and orange tarts, so I decided to make an angel food cake. I served the cake with orange ice cream.The cake is made with egg whites, cream of tartar, sugar, flour, salt, lemon juice, and vanilla.

Upload for Macro Mondays Darkness theme. I managed to twist it round to food, again! This is a very nice bit of pottery my friend Stephen brought back from Japan which I’ve been meaning to shoot for awhile. Its a simple clay pot soy sauce table dish, the proportions and line detail are lovely. i knew the sweet dark soy would reflect and just played around until I got the arrangement just right.
