Homemade Banana Bread


Sometimes when we have leftover browning bananas at my shop, someone will take them home and make banana bread. This time that person was me… er, rather I brought them home and my mother made banana bread! I did all the necessary taste testing though ; )Submitted to the Friday Food Fiesta group on 9/5/08 (“Bread”).

Angel Food Cake


I had several egg whites leftover from the tiramisu and orange tarts, so I decided to make an angel food cake. I served the cake with orange ice cream.The cake is made with egg whites, cream of tartar, sugar, flour, salt, lemon juice, and vanilla.

Taco Soup


You can’t go wrong with mexican flavored food, even when you are experimenting. I made this taco soup the other day and it turned out great.Recipe:1 can pinto beans1 can rotel (w/ lime juice + cilantro)1 can corn1/2 onion, diced1/2 packet taco seasoning1 teaspoon garlic, minced1 T vegetable oil1/2 T cornstarch(mixed with 1/2 T water)1/2 teaspoon salt1/2 teaspoon MSGSautee onions and garlic in the oil in a large pot for a few minutes then add the rest of the ingredients, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.(4 servings)
